Type: Part time

Pay Range: $12.00-$12.50/hour (Pay is based on education and prior experience)

Position Purpose:
Offer support and relief to House Parents while also directly caring for children at CHOL to ensure their needs are fulfilled.

Job Specific Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in child care related services with children/families
• Experience working with children with therapeutic needs preferred

General Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and direction of all recreational/educational activities, as well as spiritual development programming;
• Provide supervision of children engaging in free time activities;
• Prepare and present activities that promote a therapeutic environment; and
• Help prepare lessons and activities that teach students life skills.

General Qualifications for All Employees of The Children’s Home of Lubbock:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be able to read, write and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel and other persons necessary to care for the young adult’s needs.
• Have a Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Exhibit behavior and health status that does not present a danger to young adult in care.
• Meet the requirements of licensing standards in regards to a criminal background check.
• Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
• Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.

• Complete a notarized Licensing Affidavit for Applicants for Employment
